My first contribution towards the "Boobies Project", something I'm collaborating on with another graphic artist, Richard Nash.
I'm not going to give you an "omg I hate scene kids/emos" rant. Hate is too strong a word. I will, however, tell you that this is more about how dressing like other people dilutes and cheapens your indivuduality ( Derr... ). As soon as you get this haircut, your face becomes invisible to me, you're just another "scene kid". They make me a little sad, actually.
The image of the girl is a shameless trace of a photo I found on google... and that's kind of the point. How many kids have a shameless trace of this haircut?
I may dress differently from other people in my school, but I've never once dyed my hair. The most you'll see me do with it is put it up in a ponytail.
I think as long as you dress differently in the true sense, ie. you can't be labelled as being part of a fashion subculture then that's great, it's very brave and inspiring to do something that's just you.
But if you are part of a fashion subculture and you're doing it for the sole purpose of being "different" or "unique", then you've missed the point entirely. Delicious irony is delicious.
Yes, tis true XD I dress how I feel comfortable, and that's all. I suppose it could be classified as "goth", but not quite at the same time... But I've never done it just to be visibly different.

One of my friends wore a suit to school every day his senior year.
Me? I stuck with the Aloha Shirts. (Hawaiian button ups)
I thought being an individual was more than having a "unique" dress sense. Maybe it's just me though
