Buy cheaper prints on imagekind: [link]

Experimenting with minimal colour to avoid things getting cheesy. I hadn't done a hannya mask before and I love how badass they are. I had this idea which I thought might make a good print for my bedroom :)

i think the minimal colour really accentuates the details, and the mask as a whole. the expression is amazing :}

Yeah, I guess you don't find many 2 tone hannya. I don't know where I got the idea from... I do like doing things that are a bit different :)

Nice! I like how you were able to select the parts that needed highlighting, particularly where it was in shadow and then the eyes pop out! I never knew they were called Hannya masks before, but I've seen them around :)

Why, thankyou very much for your thoughtful and kind comment :) I must admit that shapes would have been impossible to find without studying countless reference images though.

You know, you got me wondering if ther term "hannya" is correct, so I looked it up to make sure: [link]

I usually use the same terms used by western tattooists and sometimes find out later that they're not accurate, so I try to double check just in case!

Oh I thought it's a traditional paper-block print (or what is the term in Enlgish). Looks neat in its simplicity =)
Say, how did you do the writing on the left top, it looks neat. is it a font-tyoe or your hand-writing?
Btw the link you gave doesn't work. I mean it is just a link to that website but not to this particular piece.

Hehe, I'm not even sure what it's called in English myself! Glad you liked it.

The kanji was done by hand... well, in illustrator with a tablet using the brush tool and pressure sensitivity. I must admit that I copied the style from somewhere else to give it a decent level of authenticity.

Thanks for letting me know about the broken link, it should be fixed now :)

The two-tone color scheme really shows off your clean line work. The contrast is fantastic and works really well on this. Now I have yet another cultural reference to look up though!
